Madagascar – Surroundings

In October 2015, along with 18 others, I spent some time in Mandritsara in rural Northern Madagascar. Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world, with pretty poor infrastructure, and it was a real eye opener. I am very thankful to have comforts here like clean running water on demand, education, and good and free healthcare.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to see the Hopitaly Vaovao Mahafaly (Good News Hospital), and their other projects, the Good News School, the radio station, and the Bible Baptist Church,  and how they all work to benefit the community in Madritsara, both physically and spiritually. I got to spent time with the missionaries, hospital staff and the locals.

Below are some general travel photographs from Madagascar. They are mostly from around Mandritsara and the surrounding villages, but there are some from the capital Antananarivo, and others from my journey up to Madagascar by road, which took 2 days. The journey up was fascinating, and although we we driving pretty constantly and didn’t stop much, I did get to see the countryside a bit.

You can see some more photos of the general surroundings in gallery in the Madagascar Project section of my website – http://www.connormccullough.co.uk/surroundings-1/
I will be blogging more images of our trip over the coming days and weeks, focusing on the building project, the hospital, and some of the people that we met.
