Bumper blog post warning…. this is a long one…
So, we were either very brave or very foolish, but we decided that for our first holiday as a new family, that the 3 of us would go to the USA for a couple of weeks, 6 month old baby included 🙂
We had a great time, visiting Nashville, Franklin, San Francisco, Yosemite, Big Sur and the Central Californian Coast, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Malibu, Santa Monica.
Yea, that’s a lot of flights, airports and driving, but it was super, and EL was brilliant. We saw so much, met up with some friends who we have known for a while but finally got to meet in person, and we ate… a lot… and drank a lot of coffee too of course.
I think that for me at least the highlight of the trip was Yosemite National Park. I have never seen anywhere like it before in my life, it was simply incredible. I can totally understand why Ansel Adams was so captivated by it’s beauty and majesty. My photos don’t do it justice, you really need to visit this place. My only regret is that we only had a couple of days, I would love to go back and spend a week camping and hiking.
The food and drink was great too… Barista Parlour, Crema, Southern BBQ food, Five Points Pizza, Mas Tacos Por Favor, Acme Feed and Seed, Legends Cafe, Laylas Bluegrass Inn, Blue Bottle Coffee, Sight Glass Coffee, Cafe Trieste, Precita Park Cafe, Joes Crab Shack, Boudin Bakery, Dynamo Donuts, St. Francis Fountain, Ben n Jerrys, In n Out Burger, Off the Grid Picnic at the Presidio, Taqueria Plazuelas, Kuppa Joy, Starbucks, SLO Donut Company (slodoco), Bello Mundo, In n Out Burger (again), Intelligentsia Coffee, Ristorante Al Mare
